Bellambi Neighbourhood Centre and the Illawarra Food Hub have joined forces to open the Illawarra Food Hub - Bellambi.
The grand opening on Friday 14th October 2016 attracted tri-partisan support from the Honourable Gareth Ward, Member for Kiama and Parliamentary Secretary for the Illawarra and South Coast, Mr Ryan Park, Shadow Treasurer and Shadow Minister for the Illawarra, and Lord Mayor Councillor Gordon Bradbery. Their combined support and enthusiasm for this new project was overwhelming as was our client response during our first week of trading.
We are proud to be entering into this new partnership with the Illawarra Food Hub (based in Warrawong) which allows us to join this already very successful organisation in its region wide approach to collecting food and providing it at low cost to our community. So many people in our community are 'doing it tough.' By opening the Illawarra Food Hub - Bellambi we are providing healthy, nutritious food to people at affordable prices whilst preventing food waste.
Prices at the food hub are kept to an absolute minimum and if you spend $20.00 or more you are able to fill a box with free fresh fruit and vegetables, bread, cakes and salads that have been donated (subject to availability).
If you haven't already come in to have a look and sign up as a member drop in any time between 10am and 2pm, Tuesday to Friday (we are closed between 12.30 and 1pm for lunch)
