Graham Kahabka

I have been retired for the past 6 years. I am married to Nancy and live in Wollongong. I
have 4 children, 6 grand children and 4 great grand children and my Whippet, Emile.
Before retirement, I was the Executive Director in the NSW Department of Education with
responsibility for about 83% of NSW including the south eastern, southern, western and far
western regions of the state.

Prior to that I was responsible for the northern and western regions of Sydney and the
Central Coast. I worked in a broad range of fields in education including teacher, principal,
quality assurance director and accountability director.

I’m experienced in organisational development and change with a focus on structural
improvements, performance development, planning, financial accountability and business
transformation.

I have a Diploma of Teaching, Bachelor of Education, Graduate Diploma in Administrative
Leadership and Master of Educational Studies (Educational Administration).
Currently, I am Chairman of the Owners’ Corporation in the building I live in, I’m Chairman of
the Board of ITeC Illawarra, a not-for-profit training company, and President of the
Wollongong Branch of the Labor Party.

I am offering my skills to the Bellambi Neighbourhood Centre to assist with managing its
affairs in the most effective, efficient and economic manner so the centre and its staff can
thrive and provide services that best meet the needs of the Bellambi community.
